I had plans for !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ...then my ski binding broke. I love my truck, but I need to ski this el nino and since my binding just broke for a 3rd time...its time for new ones; Stupid suckers are EXPENSIVE [$450-$550]. These are among the cheaper ones in the performance category I’m looking at. nerts.
On the plus side, my daughter’s first ski day went well except for the colossal workout I got from carting her up the hill and chasing her down the hill on account of no skiis.

“I need to ski this el nino”
Clearly El Nino’s effect on you is vastly different from its effect here.

I have yet to see a day below 40. And I live in the usually-frozen tundra known as Massachusetts.

We got our first snow in December yesterday. Like come on with this weather already. Supposed to be 60 and raining Christmas Eve.

After demolishing multiple sets of bindings many seasons ago I gave up, shortened up my skis and switched to non-release and never looked back. I’ve got a set of these that I’ve had for 8 or 10 years or something with no adjusting or finagling required. No injuries yet, haha.

Ugh, this reminds me that I need new bindings in a horrible way. I’d rather buy new skis instead, but here we are.

I bet the resorts around Mt Washington have some snow

A little too far from the place I get to stay at for free, unfortunately

Get a pair of these:
Go to a place that has these:
Problem solved. As an added bonus you get to rest on the way up the hill. Plus you don’t have to deal with us lazy flatlanders judging you for having touring bindings.

Already have a set of those for that and nuts to flat landers

No more Jerp, just a Blazer. We actually ended up renting a car for this trip though, would’ve been too many miles on the SHO and had some reliability concerns w the Blazer on a 1800 mile trip.

That’ll work. Rental cars are trail rated by default ;)

I figure if you are at the resort might as well have some dedicated resort skis with alpine bindings or the marker or salomon randonee bindings like these, I would hope they can handle the abuse a bit better than Dynafit’s. My coworker just had his front binding (dynafit viper) pull out of his ski.

Turns out I still can get half off Vipec bindings if I hurry, So I am heading up to the Black Diamond store this afternoon to check them out. I hear they are good. My buddy skied with them all last year and had no issues and he’s like 6’2” 250 and a hard skiier so that bodes well.

They’re easily as capable as a Liberty.

Just use rental skis. Then if they break it’s not your problem. :P
The ski hill I work at in Wisconsin finally opened on Saturday. The weather sucks for snowmaking.

Update: took them into the factory store and they replaced the broken piece in 2 minutes. Ah yeaaah
